We are seeking a new colleague to join our international modelling and data science team. We are a young, highly motivated and qualified team of experts interested in math, statistics and computing. We develop advanced risk management models and automation tools that make the jobs of others’ more efficient and pleasant. Using Machine learning and AI techniques, we are programming in Python, Matlab or R as our daily business.

Your job description:

Understanding and interpreting various data and subsequently creating and enhancing tools for it to analyze and to predict prices, risks, probabilities etc.. Making sense out of data for the business! In more detail, that means:

  • fundamental analysis of energy markets (prediction of wholesale prices, shapes of spot prices)
  • developing risk management practices for the risks associated with trading electricity or gas on wholesale and retail markets
  • analysis and development of energy commodities price models
  • programming in Matlab / Python / R to create tools for our internal customers, e.g. in trading or sales but also for individual key account customers
  • communication with internal and external counterparties to move projects along
  • close cooperation with local experts within the innogy group in Germany and other regions (mainly Netherlands, Belgium and Poland)

Skills, we are seeking:

  • Programming in Python, R or Matlab
  • Proficient English and Czech, German is an advantage
  • MS Office - especially Excel, VBA
  • Degree in technical, mathematical or economic domain, focusing on statistics and econometrics; we gladly give great graduates a chance
